Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I sign up?

You can sign up for the CSA online via the Join Our CSA page our email us at abodecsa@gmail.com for a sign up form.

How Do I Pay?

We accept Venmo (@Abode-Farm) and check and cash payments. See the sign up form for more details.

What Are My Payment Options?

Abode Farm is committed to food accessibility, meaning that everyone regardless of income has the right to nutritious food. We aim for balance in keeping food affordable, striving to provide living wages for our farmers, and caring for our land. This is why we are offering sliding scale shares and payment plans.

What is sliding scale?

A sliding scale means that members who opt to pay on the higher end are offsetting the cost for those who can only afford to pay on the lower end. We encourage you to pay according to your financial ability in order to make CSA shares available to those on a tighter budget. We ask that “Large” shares please not be split between multiple households. For more information on tiered pricing and where you might fall on the sliding scale, check out our friends at the Rolling Grocer 19.

What’s in a share?

Lots! CSA share produce varies significantly over the course of the season. We carefully plan for a diversity of crops and ensure that each week includes both staple vegetables and exciting seasonal offerings.

Which Size share should i chose?

A Large share feeds 2-4 people for 4-5 meals a week while a Small share will feed 1-2 people for 4-5 meals.

Can I split a share?

We’ve priced our shares and taken into consideration different household sizes by offering Large and Small shares. We ask that you do not split shares with others but just elect the “small” share as an alternative.

What Happens at the CSA Pick up?

Please bring your own bags to take home your produce. When you arrive there will be a board with all the items and quantities for the week listed. Find a farmer nearby in the main field if you have any questions. You can also find other products from local businesses at the farm store for purchase.

What if I can’t Pick Up My Share?

You may want to arrange with a friend or neighbor to pick up your share that week. If that is not possible please email us and we can arrange to donate your share for that week.

How does U-Pick work?

The U-Pick is open in the main field on Tuesdays and Fridays from 2-7PM. You are welcome to come to the main field (right near the parking lot) and harvest your own flowers, herbs, beans, tomatoes and more! We will list what is available that week on the CSA blackboard in the Abode Farm Center (barn) and there will be signage to guide you to these delights!
